The wali of Béjaïa, Kamel Eddine Karbouche, invited, during a coordination meeting which he chaired last week, the chiefs of daïra and the directions of his executive to follow more closely the progress of public facilities under construction, in particular those intended for the education sector, which will also be put into service on the occasion of the next school year. Above all, it was a question of “establishing a specific state in the progress of the work of the new public facilities to be received from the start of the school year, scheduled for September 21”.
In this regard, the sector will be reinforced by numerous infrastructure likely to reduce, to a certain extent, the overload of classes, from which many establishments suffer. They will also allow students to take care of students in terms of schooling, in particular the management of groups, the improvement of the quality of teaching and learning, as well as better individual educational monitoring of students.
All cycles will be affected by these projects. For secondary school, it is planned to make two new high schools, accompanied by several classrooms. For the means, two new CEMs and two semi-orns will also be inaugurated. With regard to primary school, the sector will be consolidated by ten new primary schools, thirteen school canteens, as well as 37 new rooms arranged as part of the establishments extension program, aimed at lightening pressure due to the high number of pupils assigned. In addition to these structures, the education sector will also benefit from a healthcare unit (UDS) and a school stage, whose doors will also open from the start of the school year.
It is also important to note that ten primary schools will have school canteens in Béjaïa. This is how the town of Timezrit transformed commercial premises for professional use into a school group made up of eight classrooms, administration and a school canteen. “The work should be completed before the start of the current month,” said the wilaya recently. In Akbou, the physical progress rate of the development work of the Ouahchi Mohand Arezki primary school is 90%. “The reception of the work is scheduled for the coming days, and the establishment is expected to open its doors from the start of the next school year,” said the municipal authorities. In the commune of Ighil-Ali, the construction project for the primary school in the Village Vouni (Bouni) is on the right track.
The completion phase is underway, and the work will be delivered in the coming days, allowing the establishment of the establishment as soon as the school year 2025-2026. “This educational infrastructure has been built in order to improve the schooling conditions for village children, who travel several kilometers to go to school,” said the municipal authorities. During the meeting he presided over last week, the wali insisted on “compliance with the technical standards of the work in progress, the acceleration of the pace of project execution, as well as the connection of establishments to the drinking water supply networks (AEP), electricity, roads and gas”, among others.
In addition, there was talk of the evaluation of the various housing programs: absorption of precarious housing (RHP), helped promotional housing (LPA), rural housing (FONAL), public rental housing (LPL), and especially the lifting of constraints. Other points have also been discussed, such as “environmental hygiene, housing tax and its recovery, as well as the local development programs in progress in many municipalities, in priority those linked to the improvement of the living conditions of citizens, such as the supply of drinking water, the coating of roads and roads, among others”, said the authorities.
The meeting ended with instructions given to the directors and the officials concerned to “coordinate the actions undertaken, to follow the work permanently in order to guarantee their realization and meet the expectations of citizens”.
