Sonatrach is determined to achieve the highest levels of productive efficiency in its industrial facilities. This was stated by its CEO, Rachid Hachichi, during a working and inspection visit to the industrial zone of Arzew, in the wilaya of Oran.
At the head of a large delegation of senior executives of the company to inquire about the operation of the production units in Arzew, on July 24 and 25, the CEO of Sonatrach underlined “the constant commitment of Sonatrach to achieve the highest levels of productive efficiency in its various installations and industrial bases.”
This visit also reflects Sonatrach’s desire to accelerate the pace of vital projects “benefiting citizens,” he added.
Mr. Hachichi began his visit by inspecting the propane and butane loading dock of the GP1Z natural gas liquefaction complex, an important link in the liquefied natural gas value chain, according to the same source.
He then visited the GL3Z natural gas liquefaction complex, where he received explanations regarding the rehabilitation of this facility, which includes maintenance work using artificial intelligence techniques and cutting-edge technologies, with a view to reducing the carbon footprint and strengthening the sustainability of resources in this strategic facility.
The CEO of Sonatrach also inquired about the operation of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) loading terminals before visiting the facilities of the Company for the Management and Operation of Marine Hydrocarbon Terminals (STH) in Arzew.
On the second day of the visit, Mr. Hachichi and the delegation accompanying him inspected the project to build a desalination plant in Cap Blanc (west of Oran) with a production capacity of 300,000 m3/j, of which the work has reached 69%.
This vital project carried out by the Algerian Energy Company (AEC) should contribute to the supply of drinking water to the wilaya and strengthen the water resources of neighboring wilayas, the same source stressed.
He then went to Béni Saf (wilaya of Aïn Témouchent) to inspect the Chatt El-Hilal desalination plant, where a fire broke out last week, before partially resuming its production activities, in record time, with a capacity of 100,000 m3/j.
This station will return to its full capacity of 200,000 m3/j after the completion of maintenance work “in the next few days,” it was reported.
Mr. Hachichi ended his visit by going to the headquarters of the Sonatrach Management Academy in Oran, where he received explanations on the different training courses offered, before inspecting its basic structures equipped with modern educational resources and technological equipment, which make it possible to offer quality training to the executives and employees of the Sonatrach Group.
