The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, reiterated this commitment last Thursday during his visit to this wilaya, maintaining that the era of projects that drag on for years is over.
After having benefited from a development program capable of ensuring economic take-off, the wilaya of Khenchela will benefit from a second development program. Many projects have in fact entered into activity and others are in progress in this wilaya, which benefits from a financial envelope of 95.2 billion dinars for the realization of this program, decided by the President of the Republic . Large-scale projects are launched to boost local socio-economic development. It was the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who inaugurated several vital projects in favor of the development dynamic in this wilaya, during a working and inspection visit.
At the start of this historic visit, President Tebboune, who was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), Saïd Chanegriha, was welcomed by local, civil and military authorities. He thus proceeded to the inauguration and commissioning of the railway line linking Khenchela and Aïn Beïda (Oum El-Bouaghi), described as a promising operation.
On this occasion, the President praised the efforts of all those who contributed to the realization of this project, which entered into service “while some thought that these were only electoral promises”, he said. . He affirmed that “the era of projects that drag on for years is over thanks to the efforts of conscientious executives.”
During the inauguration and commissioning of the project to split road No. 88 linking the wilayas of Khenchela and Batna, over a length of 14 km, he highlighted the importance of this road in “ the revitalization of economic activity in the region. At the urban center of the city of Khenchela, the President laid the first stone of the project to create 600 public rental housing units and followed a presentation on the sectors of housing, agriculture, hydraulics and forests in the wilaya. Regarding the green dam rehabilitation project, the President of the Republic placed emphasis on the diversification of trees, particularly in inhabited areas, calling for giving young people the chance to participate through productive projects.
The President, who received a warm welcome from the local population as well as the notables with whom he spoke, said he was proud and honored to be in the wilaya of Khenchela. The population and notables expressed their recognition of President Tebboune’s interest in relaunching development in their wilaya.
The President of the Republic, who said that the wilaya “has not benefited from its fair share of development programs in the past”, announced a second complementary development program for this wilaya, which will be added to the first, the objective being to make up for the significant delay in terms of development in this wilaya, while not ruling out “the possibility of a third development program for this wilaya from 2025”.
Concerning the housing programs in the wilaya, the President of the Republic affirmed that “it was decided, from this day, to add a quota of 2,000 rural housing units to the 4,000 rural housing units already programmed”, stressing that mountainous regions “will be allocated aid worth 100 million centimes”.
Incentives for investors
The President of the Republic also interacted with representatives of civil society who praised the honorable positions of Algerian diplomacy in support of the Palestinian cause in international forums. During this meeting, the President listened, with great attention, to the concerns and proposals of the citizens of Khenchela, who unanimously welcomed the particular interest shown by the President of the Republic in relaunching development in this wilaya, displaying their support for the pursuit of reforms as part of the process of building a new Algeria.
The President of the Republic also called on economic operators to invest more in this wilaya, announcing the granting of advantages and incentives to people wishing to invest in Khenchela. In response to the concerns of speakers during his meeting with notables and representatives of civil society in the wilaya, he called on operators to invest in projects “which benefit both them and the population of this wilaya, while benefiting from several advantages.
The Head of State affirmed that he was instructing the Minister of Industry to carry out the development of “an in-depth study to create a large industrial zone in the wilaya of Khenchela, located near the line of the road of iron, with a view to attracting investors and granting them much larger land bases than those granted in the large wilayas.
The President of the Republic promised to include “a vast program for the rehabilitation of roads and lane doubling projects, which will be gradually implemented to open up this wilaya, which will soon benefit from an urban improvement program in some of its municipalities.
