The disturbances in drinking water supply at the level of several municipalities in the wilaya, and its capital in particular, provide information on the lame management of this nerve sector. Outraged to pay unused water bills, ADE (Algerian Water) subscribers in Mostaganem qualify any attempt to justify the water crisis, incompetence in the management of the sector.
Indeed, several cities located in the town of Mansourah in the wilaya of Mostaganem face a water shortage, a situation that arouses anger among residents, especially during this period of hot weather. Residents have no choice but to wait for the tanker trucks to be able to fill their cans and basins. This phenomenon is often recurrent during each summer in Mostaganem, these water cuts are due in principle to the maintenance work carried out by ADE services on the damaged pipe networks at the level of the so -called region. The inhabitants complain about this cut which has continued for a week and denounce an unbearable situation in these times of heat. “I wake up at 2 a.m. to check if the problem has been resolved, but unfortunately for four nights, the taps do not flow, we are fed up with this situation,” explains a native father of the city of Mansourah. “It’s always the same thing here, the taps have never flowed in waves, even in winter we have experienced similar shortage situations, but in summer, it’s even worse,” said another resident. In Le Mansourah, water shortages have been frequent for several years, this lack of water that continues continues to cause anger among the inhabitants who denounce this carelessness and claim the intervention of the high authorities in order to put an end to the laxity of the local officials of Mostaganem. On the other hand, what ADE services are doing is far from professional, maintenance work is done in broad daylight and last several days for lack of means.
