Mr. Kamel Agsous indicated that manufacturing industries are the growth sectors on which we must rely to significantly develop industrial subcontracting.
Mr. Kamel Agsous’ statement comes on the eve of the opening of the doors of the Subcontracting Fair at the exhibition center (SAFEX) in Algiers. The latter added: “With the assistance of the Ministry of Industry, we have identified manufacturing industries as mature and promising sectors, on which we can rely to significantly develop industrial subcontracting.” The latter indicated that manufacturing industries include mechanics, and within manufacturing industries, there is the automobile industry. Mr. Agsous on condition “that he is mobilized normally”. Asked about the path to follow to develop subcontracting in Algeria, the president of the BSTP insisted on the upgrading of subcontracting SMEs. “There is an extremely important requirement in terms of manufacturing standards and the upgrade will allow companies, therefore subcontracting SMEs, to manufacture and be organized at international standards,” he revealed. The speaker goes on to explain that the upgrading of subcontracting SMEs will create import substitution. That is to say, drastically reduce imports and in return create jobs and wealth. Still on the subject of the Subcontracting Exhibition (ALGEST), scheduled for November 17 to 20, Mr. Agsous indicated that this event, co-organized by the Subcontracting Stock Exchange and the World Trade Center Algiers, will see the participation of 130 national exhibitors, representing all sectors of industry in general and subcontracting in particular. “There will be the mechanical, metal, steel, electronics, rubber and chemical industries. Concerning foreign participation in ALGEST 2025, it will be done through visits by delegations from several countries such as Poland, Germany, Italy, Spain, China and Tunisia, reveals the guest of Channel III. “We first want B2Bs to be able to develop, to be more numerous and for people to be able to discover each other. We also hope that for the automotive sector, partners and investors in spare parts can be confronted with reality and can make decisions in this direction,” he indicated before adding “We also hope that this Show will be an opportunity to sign a certain number of contracts and agreements which are planned with different partners”.
