The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Fayçal Bentaleb, revealed that an increase of around 35% in the number of job offers and placements was recorded during the first quarter of the year 2024, thanks to the Algerian nomenclature of professions and functions.
This nomenclature is an important achievement for the world of work at the national level, underlined the minister on the sidelines of an inspection visit to the wilaya of Mascara last Thursday. He added that this nomenclature, created at the end of last December, comes following the work of experts, taking into consideration the potential of the job seeker. He insisted that this can be updated with users.
Concerning the financial subsidies included in the National Fund for Equalization of Social Works (FNPOS), intended for the construction of rural housing, the minister announced that they were distributed, last Thursday in Mascara, to a certain number of beneficiaries.
Bentaleb also revealed, during the inauguration ceremony of the headquarters of the wilaya agency of the National Unemployment Insurance Fund (CNAC), that the State has allocated approximately 28 billion dinars over five years with a view to stimulate economic activity and support businesses in reducing the value of contributions. These measures are intended to strengthen the social dimension of the State.
He also noted that the digitalization operation of processing job applications and offers at the level of the National Employment Agency made it possible to provide transparency to this operation and to reduce the burden suffering of job seekers.
Concerning the increases in retirement pensions decided by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the minister stressed that this increase proves that the country’s economy is growing.
The revaluation of pensions, proof of economic dynamics
He indicated that “the increases in retirement pensions decided by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, have never experienced such magnitude in the social security system of our country since its creation”, hence the need, he added, “to promote this decision which reflects the economic dynamics of our country”.
He considered, in this regard, that the decision to enhance retirees’ pensions, which was approved by the President of the Republic during the last Council of Ministers, “testifies to the good approach to the national economy, in light of of an effective social security system.
The minister stressed that the financial envelope allocated to retirement pensions saw a significant increase, going from 18 billion dinars during the years 2016 and 2017, to 170 billion dinars in 2024, which proves, he deduces that “the economy is healthy” and reflects, at the same time, the level of development experienced by the country.
Bentaleb underlined that since 2020, several measures have been taken by the President of the Republic, including that of unifying employment support systems, the major integration operation in favor of 500,000 beneficiaries of pre-employment contracts. employment, as well as more than 2 million young people receiving unemployment benefit, including more than 500,000 young people benefiting from a qualification in vocational training centers.
“These achievements are part of the 54 commitments of the President of the Republic,” he underlined, noting that “all these measures aim to adopt a diversified economy, the greatest proof of which is the certification of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which highlighted in its report that Algeria is experiencing economic growth of 4.1%.
