A few days before the convening of the electoral body, the political parties are shifting into high gear. Political leaders do not miss a single weekend to host popular meetings and rallies across the national territory. All are calling for the mobilization of citizens and strong participation in the next election.
From Timimoun, the president of the El-Bina Movement, Abdelkader Bengrina, called the day before last evening for the consolidation of the national religious and cultural reference. During a popular gathering organized at the open-air theater, in the presence of executives and activists from his political party, Mr. Bengrina emphasized “the need to protect intellectual security in the face of attempts by certain parties aimed at discrediting the role of Algeria on the international scale as well as its positions, under the leadership of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in favor of just causes.
In the same vein, Mr. Bengrina underlined the importance of “the protection of cultural heritage and the moderate, humanitarian national religious reference which respects freedoms”. A heritage, he added, “in cohesion with the unity and sovereignty of the country, open to the world and defender of the causes of liberation and the rights of peoples to self-determination”.
On this occasion, the president of the El-Bina Movement called for massive participation in the presidential election scheduled for September 7, stressing that it will constitute an important step in consolidating the nation-building process.
For his part, the Secretary General of the National Republican Alliance (ANR), Belkacem Sahli, focused, the day before yesterday in Oran, on raising citizens’ awareness of the importance of the current period and the need to strong participation in the next presidential election.
Sahli clarified, during a meeting of western Algerian executives of the “Stability and Reform” coalition, which brings together 7 political parties, that “the people will decide during this election”, declaring that “it is their word which will take precedence, hence the need for massive participation if they want change towards a better future.”
In this sense, he insisted on “the importance of intensifying direct meetings with citizens in order to ensure the success of the next electoral meeting”.
Sahli also announced his intention to run as a candidate, as part of this partisan coalition, “for the success of the next presidential election in view of what challenges it entails, both internally and externally, and the opportunity it offers to citizens so that they can exercise their constitutionally enshrined popular sovereignty.”
He added that “this electoral meeting aims to rehabilitate partisan activity, after a period of lethargy that it experienced during previous years”.
For his part, the president of the Party of Renewal and Development and coordinator of the coalition of 7 parties, Dr. Assir Taïbi, declared that “the creation of this alliance took place in response to the legitimate expectations of Algerians, expressed on several occasions “.
For his part, the secretary general of the Free Democratic Front (FDL), Abdelkader Samir Saadaoui, insisted on “the importance of going down to the ground, getting closer to the citizen and developing programs capable of responding to their concerns and his expectations in order to gain his trust.
For its part, the National Democratic Rally (RND) affirmed its commitment to establishing itself as a force of support for the next presidential election and to continuing efforts to mobilize its militant forces in order to contribute to the success of this election.
In a press release sanctioning the work of its national office, under the presidency of its SG, Mustapha Yahi, the RND highlighted its desire to “continue its efforts to recruit and mobilize its militant forces in order to succeed in the presidential election, in raising awareness among the electorate of the importance of going massively to the polls and choosing their candidate in complete democracy and transparency.”
In this regard, the RND called on all active forces in society, including political parties, national organizations and components of civil society, to “expand consultations to rally around a consensual candidate for the next presidential election” in order to guarantee “the continuation of the reforms initiated in recent years and the achievement of their objectives”.
From Chlef, the president of the Sawt Echaâb party, Lamine Osmani, pleaded in favor of the promotion of political action and the presentation by parties of political programs, likely to convince citizens to respond to their needs and contribute to the building of a new Algeria.
Party leader Sawt Echaâb also underlined the “role of the citizen in political action, through his structuring within parties and his participation in decision-making as well as by the presentation of proposals adapted to his needs”, while by noting the importance of the contribution of elected People’s Assemblies to the design of development policies and the identification of needs according to the specificities of each region.
