Levée de la réserve sur l’article 15 alinéa 4 de la CEDAW

The recent lifting by our country of its reserve on article 15 paragraph 4 of the Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women (Cedaw) caused a lively controversy between, on the one hand, those who see it as a new advance in the promotion of women’s rights, and, on the other, those which warn against the consequences of an increasing alignment on models deemed incompatible with customs and customs and customs traditions of the Algerian people.

Wishing to know more about this decision with the bodies and sectors concerned, the APS learned from its sources that it was a simple technical measure made necessary by the disappearance of the reason which had initially led our country to issue a reserve on the text of article 15 paragraph 4 during the ratification of the agreement in 1996.
