Making public a press release on this tragedy, the General Directorate of Civil Protection (DGPC) indicated yesterday that “an intervention by Civil Protection rescuers from the wilaya of Algiers was immediately triggered at the beach. des Sablettes as soon as this dramatic incident was reported.

These schoolchildren, explains Civil Protection, “belong to a primary school in the commune of Ain Boucif in the wilaya of Médéa, they were on an excursion organized by the primary school,” it was indicated in the same press release.
The question that everyone immediately asks: what were the organizers of this excursion doing when this tragedy occurred? Is it due to lack of experience or is it a question of a decline in the vigilance of the organizers? A sad event. Furthermore, other similar sad incidents were reported the day before yesterday in a press release from the DGPC. These are five deaths by drowning reported in water reserves across the wilayas of Tizi Ouzou, Blida, Annaba, Djelfa and Sétif. The five victims were aged between 14 and 38 years old. The first victim of drowning was reported the day before yesterday in the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou when a young 16-year-old boy was recovered lifeless, following an intervention by firefighters, in a pool of water located at the Cité Mahmoudi in the commune of Draâ Ben-Khedda. As for the second victim, it is a young male person aged 38, who was recovered lifeless in a hillside reservoir located at a place called Douar Mouloud, commune of Ben Khalil in the daira of Oued El-Allaigue. The third victim was announced the day before yesterday, in a pool of water located in the Cité El-Birka El-Zarka falling within the commune and daira of El-Bouni in Annaba, it is a child of 14-year-old rescued without life in the same circumstances, said Civil Protection. In the wilaya of Djelfa, a fourth victim aged 20 was found dead in a water reserve located at a place called Boutchiche, commune of Ain Afkah, daira of Had Sehari, specified the DGPC through its press release made public during the day yesterday. Finally, the fifth victim who died in the same incident was found dead in a pool of water located at the entrance to the commune of El Ouarisia, daira of Ain Arnat in the wilaya of Sétif, concluded the DGPC.
It should be noted that the remains of the five victims were evacuated to the morgues of local health structures by Civil Protection.
