The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion and the General Directorate of Customs (DGD) affirmed, the day before yesterday Monday in a joint press release, that the importation of passenger cars less than three (3) years old remains exclusively reserved for resident citizens, once every three years, and not for companies, whatever the nature of their activity or their legal form.
Import operations are governed by the provisions of article 110 of the 2020 Finance Law, modified and supplemented by article 208 of the 2025 Finance Law, which stipulates that importation is carried out by resident individuals, only once every three (3) years, specified the same source.
This measure “concers exclusively resident citizens, individually and not collectively, and in no case concerns companies, whatever the nature of their activity or their legal form”, indicates the press release, underlining the ban on the sale of these vehicles in any sales area outside the legal framework provided for by the provisions of the articles mentioned.
