L’interminable calvaire des habitants du bidonville d’Oued Safaa

The endless ordeal of the inhabitants of the slum of Oued Safaa

Awaiting a rehousing for several years

A receptacle of all “social evils” as sociologists like to qualify them, the slum of Oued Safaa is a sad locality. As soon as we enter it, we discover misery and desolation. Peel jets, ripped roads, ventilated roads, electric pylons on the ground, unsanitary districts and informal trade in all streets of streets. A dismal landscape attaches the eyes and testifies that this ill -famed place did not benefit from the benefits of independence. A spectacle that leaves no one indifferent. The inhabitants have only misery and a daily life made of deprivation and frustrations. Several citizens have complained. According to these inhabitants who have just sent a correspondence to the Wali of Relizane, in addition to the garbage that poisons life, it only takes a few drops of rain to transform the whole area into a real quagmire when in summer the dust fits everywhere.
