The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Mr. Abdelhak Saihi insisted, the day before yesterday, during an evaluation meeting devoted to the activities of the National Employment Agency (Anem), on the need to modernize the public service, to place the citizen at the center of priorities in the field of employment and to support job seekers, said a press release from the ministry.
Mr. Saihi underlined, in this context, the importance of these evaluation meetings, as “an essential mechanism to improve the performance of the organizations under supervision”, affirming the need to “guarantee the quality of public service, by identifying the challenges and obstacles that could hinder the achievement of the objectives set,” specified the same source.
After presentation by the Director General of Anem of the assessment of the Agency’s activities for the year 2025, in particular the aspects of the digital transformation underway, including the integration of artificial intelligence into the agency’s services to strengthen the efficiency of intermediation and accelerate the processing of job applications, the minister gave “strict instructions to redouble efforts and support the economic dynamics experienced by the country”.
Thus, the minister called for “speeding up the processing of jobseekers’ files, developing a short and medium-term action plan aimed at improving the performance of Anem, strengthening effective coordination with the economic sectors that provide jobs with a view to offering opportunities adapted to national skills, and supporting beneficiaries of unemployment benefit in order to facilitate their integration into the labor market.”
The minister also underlined “the need to improve the quality of public service by developing accessible digital platforms, based on artificial intelligence technologies to simplify administrative procedures, in a modern and effective approach aimed at bringing the administration closer to the citizen and enshrining the principle of an administration at its service.”
He also called for “intensifying coordination between the different sectors, breaking with traditional management methods, deepening digitalization and improving response to citizens’ expectations, through the development of interactive and intelligent services making it possible to increase the efficiency of performance, while reinforcing the principle of humanization of relations with the citizen, thus reflecting the commitment of the Algerian State to serve all citizens without exception, within the framework of its social dimension.
At the end of the meeting, the minister urged executives in the sector to “adopt a new management vision based on the fight against negative practices and openness to initiatives allowing young people to develop their skills and realize their aspirations in a motivating work environment, placing the citizen at the center of priorities”.
