● Green – RSF – backed by the UAE.
RSF held areas: ~18-20 million (35-39% of total)

● Orange and yellow – local militias who side with RSF

● Pink- SAF (the part witheld inside the area held by RSF holds no important SAF presence) – backed by Iran, Turkey, Egypt and Russia.
SAF held areas: ~30-32 million (58-62% of total)

● Dark Red – SLM (South Liberation Movement). It rejected the 2006 Darfur Peace Agreement and does not officially insist on independence. It holds a territory inhabited by about 300,000 people. The area is factually self-sufficient and mostly isolated from the rest of Sudan. It runs a factual government there.
