Named after the late Moudjahid Mohamed Guenifed, the headquarters of the Directorate of Republican Security Units (URS) of El-Hamiz in Algiers, was honored, the day before yesterday Monday, by the official visit of the Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Regional Planning, Brahim Merad who, on this occasion, shared the celebration with all the staff of the General Directorate of National Security, while calling on the elements of the DGSN to prepare to put in place a special action plan to secure the next presidential election scheduled for September 7, 2024. In the company of the Director General of National Security, DGSN Ali Badaoui, the Minister of the Interior, Brahim Merad chaired, the day before yesterday Monday in Algiers, the ceremony to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the Algerian Police at the headquarters of the Republican Security Units (URS) in El Hamiz, where he looked back on the great achievements that the DGSN had experienced and gone through over the past four years, paying, on this occasion, a vibrant tribute to the sacrifices and efforts made by the personnel of the National Security during this entire period of evolution, while calling on the police to be at the big meeting with the next presidential election to secure this great national event.
“Continue to guarantee the security of the country and citizens and to mobilize, in anticipation of the presidential election of September 7, to ensure optimal security coverage of this important deadline that will allow citizens to exercise their constitutional right in a climate of tranquility and security,” said the Minister of the Interior during his address to the senior executives of the DGSN. Sharing the celebration of the 62nd anniversary of the creation of the Algerian Police, Brahim Merad indicated that “this anniversary is an opportunity to assess the significant progress made by the National Security in terms of staff, equipment and working methods based on professionalism, modernization and efficiency,” before adding that “this progress has been achieved thanks to investment in human resources and good preparation.” Brahim Merad also recalled the achievements of the Algerian Police in recent years in terms of supporting the development dynamics that our country has experienced on all levels, in accordance with the interest that the President of the Republic has in securing citizens. For his part, the Director General of National Security, Ali Badaoui, assured that National Security was “ready to take on new security challenges and coordinate with all security and civilian partners, including the National People’s Army (ANP), to guarantee the security of the country and the integrity of citizens and their property.” The head of the DGSN also indicated that the Algerian Police “continues, with the support of the country’s senior authorities, its process of development and modernization, while being determined to reach a qualitative milestone in terms of performance.” S.
