New specifications to regulate activity and guarantee customer rights

The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications announced, the day before yesterday, Saturday in a press release, the finalization of the development of the new specifications establishing the operating conditions of postal services subject to the simplified declaration system.
The finalization of the development of this notebook comes “following its enrichment by the contributions of the various parties concerned”, indicates the press release, specifying that it “will be officially presented in the coming days by the Postal and Electronic Communications Regulatory Authority” (Arpce).
This project aims to “make a qualitative leap in the regulation of this activity, especially since it is limited to the relationship between the operator and Arpce, through the granting of licenses, without precisely defining the obligations of postal establishments towards their customers”, adds the text, stressing that the new specifications consecrates “the principle of transparency between the operator and the citizen”, by requiring establishments to respect professional and technical standards precise”.
These standards include “the adoption of a clear commercial identity, with a distinctive name and logo affixed to envelopes and vehicles”, and the obligation to “wear a uniform for employees, reflecting the identity of the establishment and respecting the rules of hygiene and decorum”.
Operators are also required “to install a visible sign at their commercial headquarters in order to facilitate the establishment of contacts with customers,” according to the press release.
On a professional and technical level, the draft specifications emphasize “the need to guarantee the confidentiality of correspondence, the security of postal shipments, and compliance with legislation relating to the protection of personal data, in accordance with Law No. 18-07, by prohibiting any illegal use of this data”.
