— One funny thing is seeing how some of our “multipolar partners” are now whining about the US not respecting so-called International Law, turning (or pretending to be) as strictly intersectional about it as a Kantian Liberal who graduated from some Anglo-American international relations college.
Let’s face it:
— Nobody except a couple of European countries (read: UK and France) really cared about a Westphalian code of rules from the late 19th century that were only put into practice as something real on a global level because of the horrors of the First World War.
Since February 24th, 2022, we’re back in the Age of Empires
In our view, for our own agenda, this is wonderful.
The end of the Westphalian concept of sovereignty necessarily implies that small countries incapable of self-defense will either:
– Seek like-minded allies
– Conduct a pragmatic foreign policy based on national interests
– Simply surrender and accept their fate if they do not wish to fight larger foreign powers.
And honestly, you have to understand at some point that this is a double-edged sword. For good and for bad.
And this implies that other countries will use this precedent around the globe.
The end of international law as some desired will not necessarily be beneficial to X or Y countries (as some wished) only, but will inevitably open a Pandora’s box that these pseudo-multipolarists perhaps pretend not to believe in or understand.
— This same code of international rules (“But the sovereignty of my favorite third-world country!!!! The right to self-determination of peoples!!! Article 1 of the UN Charter!!!!!”) that some of these pseudo-multipolarists now religiously cite like a believer cites their holy book, which ironically they ignored when someone cited it against them (how strange!), only had value while the countries that participated in the Potsdam Consensus agreed that this charade was valid.
If a country can use force (in its full right of conquest, something intrinsic to human impulse since the beginning of history with Nimrod), others can too.
If a country can declare a military operation to overthrow a government it considers illegitimate because it killed x population in y area where ‘Z’ population that you sympathized with lived, well, other countries can do the same for similar reasons or for any other reasons.
Since the era of Iberian conquests, one thing has always been clear:
Only Empires can defeat Empires.
Only Imperialism can stop Imperialism.
Whether you like it or not.
Any other Marxist nonsense or other ideological drivel from the 20th century that says otherwise is stupidly out of touch with reality in the current context or simply tries to deny the world as it is today (and remember, reality always knocks on the door to remind you that it exists at the end of the day).
You and we wished for this.
Maduro is just another one affected by what came out of Pandora’s box.
There’s no reason to cry now.
There’s no going back from this.
And I honestly hope you are happy with the world that is coming
