Opinion of Ivan Filippov, the author of “The Mouse”, about Z-channels and why the authors are absolutely unable to draw any conclusions from what they themselves write.
Well, about z-culture: why it doesn’t exist, it never existed and with a high degree of probability there never will be, no matter how much Zakhar Prilepin whines about this topic. Even if the Ministry of Defense listens to the columnist of the z-edition “Paragraph” and takes “patriotic writers” under its wing, apart from increasing the pile of unclaimed Z-graphomania, this will not help the offended z-authors.
“— From your point of view, can these people [Z-authors] influence something?“
“They are listened to by people who donate money to them, some of the military personnel. They have a serious audience: I think they are read by about ten million people in total. These include wives, friends, acquaintances, and relatives of those who were mobilized or who went to fight. They don’t trust TV, and for many, Telegram channels become the only source of real information.
But they have no political influence or weight. And there is no way to solve even one of the problems they claim to be fundamental. If they were any significant force, they could decide something – but they cannot. They complain, but they say victory is inevitable. They say that Putin is not to blame for anything, but the problems that they described in 2022 have still not been resolved by mid-2024: the lack of provision of the army with everything necessary for war (which, as a result, is purchased by thousands of volunteers or the Russian military itself – at their own expense), “excessive losses”, the lack of saturation of the front with drones, the lack of reinforced concrete shelters at military airfields, terrible problems with transport (these problems, again, are solved at the expense of volunteers), the lack of normal secure communications for the military, and so on.” .
