The 15th edition of La Fête de la Figue opened Thursday in the Lemsella village in the town of Illoula Oumalou, southeast of Tizi-Ouzou, with the participation of around sixty exhibitors.
The opening of the event took place in a festive and friendly atmosphere marked by traditional songs of women in the village, in the presence of local authorities as well as a large crowd of visitors. The mayor of the commune of Illoula Oumalou, Zoubir Adjlout, as well as the president of the People’s Assembly of Wilaya (APW), Youcef Sid Ali, praised the efforts of the inhabitants of the village which maintain the organization of this celebration which reached its 15th edition.
The president of the APW encouraged the organizers to perpetuate the organization of this celebration, reiterating the commitment of the institution elected to continue to support the various festivities organized through the wilaya.
The alleys of the village nestled at the foot of the majestic Djurdjura will vibrate for two days to the rhythm of this celebration during which farmers and craftsmen of different trades, as well as artists, will exhibit their products and their know-how.
