Petition to support President Tebboune’s candidacy

Indeed, as we go to press, thirty-one candidates intend to run for the country’s highest office on September 7, but the incumbent President has, to date, not yet made his candidacy for his own succession official.
As a reminder, he has until July 18 to decide… This did not prevent members of the Algerian community abroad, particularly that of France, from launching a petition on the platform “Les lignes bougent” in order to support President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a second term.
In a statement sent to our editorial staff in Paris, the editors emphasize: “We, members of the Algerian community established abroad, are sending this petition to express our unwavering support for the candidacy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune for a second term as President of our dear homeland, Algeria. And continue: “Why do we support this candidacy? Quite simply for the continuity of the development program”, specifying: “Under the leadership of President Tebboune, Algeria has undertaken major economic and social reforms aimed at diversifying our economy, modernizing infrastructure and improving the quality of life of citizens. The continuity of these reforms is crucial to ensure sustainable and inclusive development for our country.” For the strengthening of democratic institutions, the editors of the said statement emphasize: “President Tebboune has initiated reforms to strengthen democracy, transparency and the rule of law in Algeria. His vision for a more just and equitable Algeria must be pursued to guarantee the stability and prosperity of our country.”
Regarding President Tebboune’s support for the Algerian community abroad, the statement acknowledges: “We recognize and appreciate the efforts made by the Head of State to bring Algerians living abroad closer to their homeland.” While continuing “his initiatives to facilitate investments by the diaspora, improve consular services and encourage the active participation of Algerians abroad in national development are testimonies of his commitment to us.”
Regarding the vision for a modern and innovative Algeria, the authors of the petition specify: “President Tebboune has demonstrated a firm desire to make our homeland a leading country in innovation, technology and education. His ambitious plan to strengthen national industry, support start-ups and promote scientific research is an opportunity for all of us to participate in building a modern and prosperous Algeria.”
For peace and security the statement states: “Thanks to the wisdom and leadership of President Tebboune, Algeria has maintained its stability in a region often marked by unrest… His policy of peace and security has helped protect our country against threats and guarantee a serene environment for development.”
“We firmly believe that the re-election of President Tebboune is essential to continue on the path of progress and prosperity. We therefore call on all members of the Algerian community abroad to support this petition and unite to encourage our President to run for a second term. Together, we can contribute to a strong, prosperous and united Algeria,” the statement concluded.
