The National Employment Agency (ANEM National Employment Agency) succeeded in integrating more than 45,000 unemployment benefit recipients into the labor market. This was indicated by Abdelkader Djaber, general director of ANEM, specifying that this operation is part of the agency’s ongoing efforts to combat unemployment and promote the professional integration of job seekers. job.
Djaber specified that “since the implementation of the unemployment benefit system in March 2022, and until this month of May, the National Employment Agency has offered permanent job offers to more than 435,000 applicants, among whom more than 45,000 have been recruited.”
The same official added that more than 2 million people have benefited from unemployment benefit until this month of May, stressing that the payment of the benefit is made regularly and periodically on the 26th, 27th and 28th. of each month.
Furthermore, aware that more than half of unemployment benefit recipients lack the qualifications required to access the job market, ANEM, in collaboration with the vocational training and higher education sectors, has training programs dedicated to this category.
“In October 2022, a training operation began in more than 850 training centers across the national territory. As such, more than 368,000 beneficiaries of unemployment benefit without training were directed to training centers,” explained Mr. Djaber. He said that currently, more than 256,000 people are undergoing training at different dedicated centers, while more than 163,000 trainees have completed their training.
ANEM also succeeded in integrating more than half a million pre-employment contract holders into permanent jobs at the end of 2023. Among these beneficiaries, 325,000 were integrated into the Employment Assistance Scheme. integration (DAI) and 179,000 to the Social Integration Activities Scheme (DAIS).
Furthermore, as part of its strategy to modernize and improve its services, ANEM is developing the second version of its “Al Wassit” digital platform, dedicated to connecting offers and requests for job. “This new version, produced 100% by national skills, uses artificial intelligence and will be officially launched by the end of 2024,” announced Mr. Djaber.
It should be noted that during his intervention, Mr. Djaber underlined the capital importance that the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, attaches to the employment issue, in fulfillment of his commitment no. 44 aimed at reducing unemployment , especially among young people.
In order to make this presidential commitment a reality, ANEM has developed a roadmap structured around more major axes. These include increasing the number of job offers offered to job seekers, continued support for job seekers to increase professional integration rates, as well as the adoption of digitalization as a strategic choice to guarantee transparency in the processing of job offers.
Djaber also reiterated the importance of the establishment of unemployment benefit by President Tebboune. This measure aims to support job seekers and young university and professional training graduates by granting them a financial allowance until they obtain stable employment. The CEO of ANEM was keen to highlight the success of this initiative, making Algeria the first Arab country to establish such an allocation.
