The Ministry of Vocational Training and Education is accelerating preparations for the next edition of the National Careers Olympiad, an event that has become essential to promote excellence, innovation and competitiveness among the 5,000 young people expected.
Under the chairmanship of Ms. Nassima Arhab, Minister of Vocational Training and Education, a consultative meeting was held this Sunday at the ministry’s headquarters. This meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of the progress of preparations and to define the mechanisms necessary to ensure the success of this national event.
Several central executives as well as representatives of partner economic companies took part in the work. The presentations made focused on the various organizational and technical aspects, while highlighting the progress made by the sector in terms of skills training and employment promotion.
According to the figures communicated, the upcoming edition will mobilize the 58 wilayas of the country, with the participation of more than 5,000 candidates, 300 volunteers and 300 winners expected during the finals. The event, which is expected to attract more than 60,000 visitors, will also benefit from extensive media coverage from more than 120 national news outlets.
The organizers also presented the spaces which will host the activities of this event, in particular the “Skills Arena”, the real heart of the competition, and the “Talent Match Zone”, dedicated to connecting young participants and companies, in order to promote their professional integration.
Closing the meeting, Ms. Arhab recalled that the Careers Olympiad represents much more than a simple competition. According to her, it constitutes “a space for the expression of talent and national know-how, but also a showcase for the dynamism of the professional training sector”.
The minister finally insisted on the need to maintain close coordination between all the stakeholders concerned to guarantee an organization that matches the ambitions and potential of Algerian youth.
Note that this competition aims to encourage excellence and anchor the culture of innovation among young people. It also contributes to improving the level of professional training, with an emphasis on initiative and the acquisition of skills favoring access to the job market.
The apprentices who stand out at the wilaya level will take part in the regional qualifiers, to be able to secure a place in the national final. But winning a national title is only one step. The winners will then have the opportunity to represent Algeria internationally: first at the African Skills Olympiads, scheduled for next year in Zambia, then at the World Skills Olympiads scheduled for Shanghai, China. These prestigious meetings will allow the best Algerian talents to compete against champions from around the world. The 2025 Regional Olympics thus appear to be a decisive preparation for these major international events.
The evaluation juries, made up of sector experts and representatives from the economic world, will finally designate the best achievements, thus recognizing the country’s most promising young talents.
