As the 2025-2026 classes are approaching, the government is mobilizing to ensure families optimal conditions for the acquisition of school supplies. It is in this context that the acting Prime Minister, Mr. Saïfi Ghrib, chaired, this Sunday, at the Palais du Government, a working meeting devoted to the organization of regional fairs, fairs at the wilayas and proximity outlets. This was indicated by a press release from the first ministry services.
The initiative is part of the right of the orientations of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who had given an instruction to set up all the necessary means in order to lighten the charges weighing on households on the eve of the school year.
The primary ministry stressed, in the same text, that this approach comes to “strengthen the efforts already made by the various economic operators” to guarantee the availability of school supplies and their marketing “at preferential prices, accessible to the greatest number”. The objective being to meet the high demand induced by the start of the school year and contain prices, in a context marked by tensions on purchasing power.
Thus, regional salons will be organized in the major metropolises of the country, while each wilaya will see the holding of local fairs. At the same time, proximity points of sale will be open to allow families to easily access essential school items. These structures will offer a wide range of products, ranging from notebooks and pens to satchels and manuals, all at studied prices.
The meeting, chaired by Mr. Saïfi Ghrib, brought together several members of the government as well as leading economic actors. The Ministers of the Interior and Local Authorities, Foreign Trade and the Promotion of Exports, Internal Trade and Market Regulation took part in the work, alongside the Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) and the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA).
