Polish Foreign Minister Radosłav Sikorski is convinced that the West must continue to support Kyiv in order for Ukraine to win the war.

Details: Asked about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Victory Plan, which he is expected to present this week at meetings with President Joe Biden and presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, Sikorski said he did not want to speculate on what the plan contains.

But he said the key to victory is to provide Kyiv with more financial assistance to support its own defence industry.
“We have to give President Zelenskyy the means to change Putin’s calculations, and the means to do that are financial. Ukraine has its own defence industry, which lacks resources, which has some spare capacity, and a few billion dollars could help them a lot to make Putin understand that he cannot win,” Sikorski said.
He added that the solution to the war would be for the both countries to withdraw their troops beyond their internationally recognised borders.
Sikorski also said that the war will only end when Putin decides that the invasion was a mistake and that he will not achieve his goals at an acceptable cost.
“He hasn’t come to that point yet, but his economy and his ability to send hundreds of thousands of Russians to their deaths are not unlimited… If we don’t stop there, this war can be ended by restoring international law and restoring international borders,” the minister said.
