Polish businessmen in Algeria
An Algerian-Polish business forum took place this Sunday in Algiers, aiming to strengthen economic relations between the two countries, in addition to exploring investment opportunities in key sectors, by organizing B2B meetings between the different economic actors.
This forum constitutes a real opportunity for Polish and Algerian companies to develop new commercial partnerships, highlighting key sectors such as construction, electricity, agri-food, agricultural machinery and equipment, veterinary products, stainless steel industry and consulting. The event is organized by the Polish Embassy in Algeria, in collaboration with the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), as well as the Polish Investment and Trade Agency and the Polish Chamber of Commerce .
For its economic mission in May 2024, the Polish delegation is looking for partnership and investment opportunities in Algeria, thus confirming the growing interest of Polish companies in the booming Algerian market. This visit demonstrates the desire of the two countries to strengthen their bilateral cooperation and stimulate their economic exchanges.
During his speech, the Director General of CACI, Hocine Zaoui, said he was optimistic about the advancement of Algerian-Polish relations as well as the strategic investment opportunities offered by this forum.
In this regard, Mr. Zaoui revealed that the value of trade between the two countries increased from 225 million dollars in 2022 to 423 million dollars in 2023. In addition, Polish exports to Algeria have recorded an increase, from $606 million in 2022 to reach $717 million in 2023.
In this sense, the DG affirmed that the CACI is working, in collaboration with Polish partners, to further enrich and increase these exchanges, recalling the legal measures implemented to improve the business climate, in particular the law on investment, the law on money and credit, as well as access to agricultural land.
For her part, the person in charge of economic affairs at the embassy, Ewa Niemier-Pawlowska, indicated that “this cooperation is proof of Algeria’s interest in this strategic partnership, particularly in the areas of agri-food, industry and design offices”, adding that the economic mission will continue by organizing other similar delegations, with the aim of developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Algerian partners.
It should be noted that the delegation will be present at the “SIPSA FILAHA” Agriculture, Livestock and Agro-industry Exhibition, which opens today to explore investment opportunities in the agricultural sector in Algeria. In addition to visiting this unmissable exhibition, the delegation will hold meetings with various business partners and institutions in the country to discuss cooperation possibilities.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency in Algeria to strengthen bilateral economic relations.
Indeed, this delegation is one of the many economic missions organized by the embassy in order to promote trade and create strategic partnerships with Algerian actors, recalling that the Polish economic mission also visited Algeria in April last, notably in the wilaya of El-Oued, known for its agricultural potential.
