Visas exemption for diplomatic and service passport holders

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has, once again, cropped the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs concerning a measure taken by the French authorities affecting bilateral relations. It is the suspension of the Algerian-French agreement of 2013 relating to the exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic passports and service on which the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs Publication of an opinion in the Official Journal of the French Republic.
This opinion attributes to the Algerian party the responsibility of the suspension of the said agreement, indicating that Algeria ceased to apply it from May 11, 2025. It was false, reacted a source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the French assertion. The restrictions on access to French territory, imposed on holders of Algerian diplomatic passports and service, were announced by the French party itself from last February, corrected a source from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported by the APS.
She quoted an official press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs dated February 26, 2025 which had denounced these measures in their time. Obviously, at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, we have short memory.
The source of the ministry recalled that it was on February 13, 2025 that a first holder of the Algerian diplomatic passport was prohibited from access to French territory. This precedent was followed by a second case, on the other hand, on February 26, 2025. As the press release from the Algerian Foreign Ministry said, these two cases were the subject of official explanation requests to the French authorities.
According to the same source, in this case, it is a manifest bad faith of the French part. It is she who assumes the responsibility of the first blatant violations of the agreement in question.
The Algerian reaction was only of the application of equivalent measures registering within the framework of the strict implementation of the principle of reciprocity.
For the Algerian part, this file is definitively closed after the notification, on August 7, of the denunciation by Algeria of the Algerian-French agreement of 2013 relating to the exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports. The French regime declares to include the unilateral measures he takes against Algeria as part of a “graduated response announced to be hardened in the face of what he notes as a situation blocked in relations between the two countries”. This “graduated response” is based on the suspension of bilateral agreements, the questioning of the consulates and the instrumentalization of the migration file for political pressure.
In the first week of August, a letter from the French president, Emmanuel Macron, to his Prime Minister François Bayrou, unveiled by ” Le Figaro ”, announced a hardening of the line of the French regime towards Algeria: to refuse short stay visas to holders of passports of service and diplomatic, as are long stay visas to all types of applicants.
Previously, the French Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, promptly relayed, as the parrots do, by the Algerian bloggers established in France, and who put themselves at the service of their host country, had announced to the daily ” Le Figaro ” his intention to ask the French prefectures to “do not take into account the passports issued by the Algerian consulates to Algerian nationals, purposes of obtaining stay titles ”.
A source close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had developed things: a non-recognition of these documents, as announced by the French Minister of the Interior, would also constitute a violation of individual rights and another breach of the bilateral commitments of France. So, Bruno Retailleau uses any pretext that falls under his eyes or who is suggested to him to tackle Algeria.
The anti-algeria rantings of the French regime are relayed by the Algerian parrots who have put themselves at its service.
