During the meeting of the Council of Ministers which he chaired yesterday, Sunday, President Tebboune gave his instructions concerning the files examined. Thus, regarding the monitoring of the progress of the digitization process, following the completion of the National Data Center project, which is at an advanced pace, the President instructed the High Commissioner for Digitization to create a group of design offices, specialized in monitoring the completion of the project. Concerning the measures taken to reduce transit times for imported goods in ports, the President of the Republic instructed the Government to develop an overall vision of a new port management strategy, which will be presented to the Council of Ministers in the shortest time possible.
The President ordered the Minister of Transport to be more careful and vigilant against any form of manipulation, notably the policy of slowing down the control of containers, emphasizing the need to respect the unloading dates of shipments, by strengthening capacities and control systems, which will allow the release of dry port spaces. Concerning Start-ups, President Tebboune ordered the Government to further open the field for them so that they can benefit from public projects, and to fight against outdated methods aimed at discouraging successful young people. He ordered the sector minister to accelerate the opening of regional agencies responsible for financing and monitoring start-up projects.
The Council of Ministers approved the project to complete the seawater desalination station in Tamda Ouguemoun, provided that the technical studies are thorough and precise, particularly with regard to energy supply. Furthermore, concerning the supply of the wilaya of Tiaret with drinking water, the President ordered the Ministers of the Interior and Hydraulics to develop an urgent and exceptional program, immediately after the end of the Council of Ministers and at later within 48 hours, to resolve the problem of supplying the population with drinking water, while involving civil society and local elected officials in the development of this urgent program; completion within a maximum period of 20 days of the water transfer project from the Chotte Echergui region, at a distance of 42 km, where the work is in progress. Other measures were decided to implement a groundwater transfer project to support the supply of drinking water to the eastern part of the wilaya of Tiaret; construction of 8,500 linear meters of wells, including preparation and connection to electricity, in the wilaya of Tiaret; completion of 4,000 linear meters of deep exploration wells in order to support the supply of drinking water, in municipalities which have a supply deficit. Concerning the project to export Algerian products, President Tebboune ordered the Government to develop an integrated strategy including all stages of the export of Algerian products, particularly with the growing number of companies active in this field.
