Promoting political practice

The Movement of Society for Peace (MSP) considers that its participation in the early presidential election scheduled for September 7 is “a duty and a national responsibility”. Through its president, Abdelaali Hassani Cherif, the MSP considered that this deadline is an opportunity to promote political practice and fight against defeatist speeches. In a speech given at a meeting dedicated to the announcement of his candidacy for the presidential election of September 7, Hassani Cherif affirmed that his participation in this deadline was “a duty and a national responsibility”, stressing that the next presidential election will be an opportunity for his political party to “promote political practice, by proposing a program that takes into account the national dimension and provides for political and socio-economic reforms”.

And he added that he intended, through his electoral program, placed under the slogan: “The Presidential election, an opportunity for change and reform”, to “fight against defeatist speeches, protect the social front and reaffirm Algeria’s position with regard to its central cause: the Palestinian cause.” Furthermore, during a rally he organized last Wednesday at the Sablettes promenade (Algiers), under the slogan “Long live Algeria”, with the participation of more than 8,000 young people representing 58 wilayas of the country, and this on the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Independence and Youth Day, celebrated on July 5, the Higher Council of Youth (CSJ), called, through the voice of its president, Mustapha Hidaoui, young people and all citizens to “participate massively in the early presidential election.”

As a reminder, on March 21, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune decided to hold an early presidential election on September 7, 2024. He then signed the Presidential Decree convening the electorate for the holding of an early presidential election. The same Presidential Decree set the start of the exceptional revision of the electoral lists for Wednesday, June 12, 2024 and its closing for Thursday, June 27, 2024.

During the next five days following the announcement of the closure of the exceptional revision, any citizen whose name did not appear on the electoral list could submit his or her complaint to the president of the electoral administrative commission, in the same way that any citizen registered on one of the lists of the electoral district could make a justified complaint for the removal of a person unduly registered, as provided for in the organic law relating to the electoral system.
