Convergence of views between Algiers and Doha.
The president of the Nation council, Azzouz Nasri, received this Tuesday the ambassador of the State of Qatar to Algeria, Abdulaziz Ali al-Nama, who paid him a courtesy visit.
During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Council, the president of the upper chamber of the Parliament said that Algeria is proud of its long -standing relations with Qatar, and the positive tendency of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, as well as their convergence of views on the international situation.
According to a statement from the Council of the Nation, the two countries “are united by joint efforts in all official and parliamentary, international, Arab and Islamic bodies, in order to achieve security, peace and prosperity for the region and the world”.
According to the same source, Mr. Nasri also highlighted strategic partnerships between the two countries in various fields, and expressed the reception reserved by Algeria to Qataris partners as part of a stimulating investment climate and a solid economic base made thanks to the deep reforms initiated by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The President of the Council of the Nation also praised the “total concordance which distinguishes the positions of Algeria and Qatar on many questions of common interest, in particular those linked to the interests of the Arab and Islamic nations, at the forefront of which is the central question, Palestine.
In this regard, Mr. Nasri renewed his condemnation of the crimes of genocide, famine and displacement committed by the Zionist occupation in Gaza and in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing the need to intensify efforts to deal with any unjust liquidation of the cause, and insisting on the need to impose the solution on two states and to end the aggression against the Palestinian people.
In this context, the positive role played by Qatari diplomacy in the humanitarian field and for peace and security in the world has been hailed by the President of the Senate, which stressed that sustainable security is the cornerstone of sustainable development and that the application of UN resolutions guarantees the restoration of stability that is lacking in the world. He reaffirmed the fundamental principles of Algerian foreign policy, which calls for the elimination of colonialism in the world and respect for peoples’ right to self -determination.
For his part, the Qatar ambassador stressed that the dynamics that characterize Algerian-Qatari relations is called to develop more thanks to the existence of a sincere and shared political will.
The ambassador did not fail to salute the constant support of Algeria in Qatar in his efforts to run for positions in international organizations. He also underlined the major role of Algeria in the promotion of regional and international regional peace and security, emphasizing the efforts it makes, thanks to its status as a non -permanent member of the UN Security Council, to promote the rights of the Arab peoples and support just causes.
