Four imams were killed in a tragic traffic accident that occurred on Wednesday evening.
The tragedy occurred following a collision between their car, a Renault Symbol, and a truck on the road between El Bayadh and El Kef Lahmar. The group of imams was returning from the funeral of one of their colleagues in the wilaya of Saida.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments presented its condolences to the families and relatives of the deceased, in a publication on its social networks.
“The victims were among the best children of Algeria and were guardians of the Book of God,” the authority wrote, accompanying its message with the names and surnames of the imams who died in the terrible road accident in Algeria.

According to the Civil Protection of the wilaya of El Bayadh, the advanced post of Kef Lahmar, assisted by the secondary unit of Boukhtab as well as by the main unit, intervened during the night of July 3 to 4, 2024.
The Civil Protection said in its statement that the accident resulted in the instant death of four people, while a fifth was injured.
Civil protection personnel dispatched to the scene of the tragedy rescued the survivor and transported him urgently to the El Kef Lahmar polyclinic.
The four victims were returning from the funeral of a colleague, a certain Abdelkrim Halimi. He was also an imam and he practiced in the wilaya of Saïda.
