Quatre options s’ajoutent au lycée – Le Jeune Indépendant

The Ministry of National Education has announced the introduction of four new foreign languages into the secondary cycle. It is the Italian, Russian, Chinese and Turkish. This measure will be taken into account from the current recruitment assistance for contract teachers, according to a press release made public on Monday.

So far, high school students had the choice between French, English, Spanish and German. With this new offer, students will now be able to study up to eight foreign languages in secondary education establishments.

According to the ministry, this diversification aims to expand the cultural and professional horizons of students, while promoting the opening of the Algerian school to the world. It is also part of an approach to modernize teaching and adaptation to new economic and geopolitical realities.

This initiative reflects the will of the educational authorities to better prepare young people to evolve in a globalized environment. It opens up new perspectives, both for university studies and for integration into an increasingly competitive and internationalized job market.
