The Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure, Lakhdar Rekhroukh, inspected several important and strategic projects in the sector the day before yesterday in Tindouf as part of the investments launched by the State with a view to developing the country’s infrastructure.
According to a press release from the ministry, Mr. Rekhroukh inquired, during this working visit, about the project to strengthen the main runway of Commandant Ferradj airport and its structures, emphasizing “the need to mobilize material resources and human resources necessary and to opt for the 3 x 8 duty system to accelerate the pace of work in order to deliver it within the allotted time frame.
In this context, Mr. Rekhroukh instructed the CEO of the maritime public works infrastructure group (Gitrama) to provide the National Company of Major Road Works (Sonatro) with all the necessary means to complete the project within the set deadlines.
Underlining in the same vein, the importance of this project in the dynamics experienced by the wilaya, the minister gave guidelines to the director of public works of the wilaya of Tindouf for the establishment of a special program to guarantee all the necessary means.
Mr. Rekhroukh also inspected the construction sites of the new mining line linking Béchar-Tindouf-Gara Djebilet over a distance of 950 km.
This line, whose construction is entrusted to the National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investments (Anesrif), “is of great importance because it will open up promising development prospects for the valorization of mining resources”, the press release said.
The ministry recalled that the implementation of this strategic mega-project includes 3 sections, the first of which connects the city of Béchar to the PK 200 over a distance of 200 km and the implementation of which is entrusted to a group of national companies. This project will be delivered in 30 months.
In this regard, the minister emphasized “the need to organize and strengthen the workshops with the necessary material and human resources, in addition to respecting the contracts concluded between the group of companies responsible for the implementation, to ensure the quality of the work and to strengthen the coordination mechanisms between the various stakeholders in this project with a view to delivering it within the set deadlines.
He also gave directions to Anesrif to “monitor the project closely”.
After insisting on the importance of the planning factor in the realization of this strategic project, the minister called on the carrying out companies to the need “to control the daily performance of carrying out the work”, while noting “the importance of proactivity in resolving the problems inherent to this project in its various aspects,” concluded the press release.
