🇷🇺🇺🇦Russia is transferring fewer of its forces to the Kursk region than Ukraine would like, writes The Economist.

The transfer is mainly from the Kharkiv region and much less from Donbass.

“Their commanders are not idiots. They are moving forces, but not as quickly as we would like. They know that we cannot extend logistics by 80 or 100 km,” said a source in the Ukrainian General Staff.

The offensive itself, according to the publication, had been planned for a long time, but some aspects of it indicate a certain rush in preparation. All three soldiers interviewed who took part in the operation learned about it the day before the assault. They were removed from other areas in the East and were not even given a rest.

There were frequent cases of friendly fire during the offensive. The fighters marched 10 km a day, replacing the forward units in hastily dug positions ahead of them every night. On the third day, KABs hit them, 12 men from the company died on the spot, many were wounded.
