On a working and inspection visit to the wilaya of Ouargla, in the south of the country, the Minister of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui ordered, the day before yesterday Saturday, the acceleration of work on the construction of new school structures in order to make up for the flagrant delays identified in many wilayas of the country. Accompanied by the Minister of Sports, Walid Sadi, and at the head of a delegation made up of senior executives from the ministerial department of National Education, Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui, dissatisfied with the pace of work experienced by numerous school projects to the point of causing flagrant delays and unfinished work across the different wilayas of the country, the minister emphasized, in Ouargla, the need to respect the set deadlines, while insisting that “the Education sector recorded certain projects late, not launched or unfinished, which required rigorous monitoring and compliance with completion deadlines,” he declared. And in order to avoid a “shortage” of educational establishments (primary, middle and secondary) in the new residential neighborhoods which, in the past, were often without schools, the Minister of National Education stressed that “the planning of the sector at the level of the wilaya, in coordination with local communities, must be part of a prospective vision aligned with urban expansion, in order to avoid the creation of new neighborhoods residential areas devoid of educational establishments,” said Mohamed Seghir Saâdaoui on the sidelines of his visit to Ouargla. During his inspection, Minister Saâdaoui laid the first stone of two projects to build a middle school (CEM) and a primary school at the urban center of “5,100 housing units” in the Bamendil district (municipality of Ouargla). A high school with a capacity of 1,000 teaching places, including, in total, 34 classes, three technology laboratories, six others for science and physics, a music workshop and another for drawing, has also been started on the same site. An envelope of more than 491 million DA was devoted to the construction of this educational establishment, including a deadline set at 14 months, according to the technical sheet. Furthermore, the ministerial delegation kicked off, at the National Training Institute for Education Personnel Cheikh El-Fodil El-Ouartillani (capital of the wilaya), a training session for the benefit of 85 physical education and sports inspectors in primary education, from different wilayas of the country. Closing his visit to the wilaya of Ouargla, the Minister of National Education, accompanied by the Minister of Sports, inaugurated a primary school in the commune of Sidi-Khouiled and a high school in the urban center “February 27, 1962”.
