Production of drug raw materials

The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, Ali Aoun, accompanied by the Minister of Hydraulics, Taha Derbal, supervised the launch of several large-scale projects in the wilaya of Batna the day before yesterday.
This is the laying of the first stone of three factories producing raw materials for several drugs of the Saidal group in the industrial zone of the town of Batna.
The first factory is intended for the production of insulin crystals with an annual capacity of 1,500 kg, while the second factory specializes in the production of raw materials for paracetamol and salicylic acid with an annual capacity of 2,000 tonnes. . Concerning the third factory, it consists of the production of raw materials for drugs for cardiovascular, inflammatory diseases and diabetes with a capacity of 4 tonnes/year.
The Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production declared on the occasion that the completion deadlines for these three factories for the construction of which a financial envelope of 3.575 billion DA was granted “were set at 18 months”, assuring that they will contribute to raising the rate of integration of the pharmaceutical industry in Algeria so as to cover the country’s needs and direct the surplus towards export.
Mr. Aoun added that this approach is part of the guidelines of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, relating to the consolidation of the pharmaceutical industry in Algeria and its rate of integration to guarantee health security. citizens and strengthen non-hydrocarbon exports.
The launch of these projects for manufacturing raw materials for medicines in Batna by the Saidal group comes a few days after the announcement of the launch of a project to transform raw materials from plants to make effective components of medicines. level of the Médéa factory.
Concerning the choice of the wilaya of Batna for the implementation of these important investment projects of the Saidal group to strengthen the national pharmaceutical industry and reduce imports, the minister indicated that all means are available in this wilaya including a hand of specialized work provided by the University of Batna, the existence of a sufficient land base for the three projects intended to make the wilaya a future center of the pharmaceutical industry in addition to its leadership in the ceramic industry.
The two ministers closed their visit to the wilaya of Batna with the inauguration of a ceramics unit in the commune of Fesdis after inspecting the wastewater treatment plant in the town of Batna where they received explanations on the importance of this infrastructure which represents an extension of the old station which came into operation in the mid-seventies.
