Seizure of 4.7 quintals of kif treated on the border with Morocco in a week

The National People’s Army (ANP), in coordination with the various security services, succeeded, during the period from August 6 to 12, 2025, to stop 51 drug traffickers and to thwart attempts to introduce 4 quintals and 7 kilograms of kif treated via the border with Morocco, according to an operational assessment published Wednesday by the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
According to the same source, within the framework of the constant efforts to combat terrorism and the crime organized in all its forms, the units and detachments of the National People’s Army led, during this same period, several operations which made it possible to obtain significant results. The latter testify to the professionalism, the vigilance and the permanent availability of the armed forces throughout the national territory.
As part of the fight against terrorism, army detachments have eliminated four terrorists and recovered four machine guns of the Kalashnikov type, in the southeast border region under the fourth military region.
In addition, a terrorist named Kezazi Omar, known as “Abu Seif”, went to the military authorities at Bordj Badji Mokhtar, in the sixth military region. He was in possession of a Kalashnikov submachine gun, an amount of ammunition and other effects.
Nine elements of support for terrorist groups were also arrested during operations carried out through several regions of the country.
As part of the fight against organized crime and in continuity of efforts to deal with the scourge of drug trafficking, the joint detachments of the army, in coordination with the security services, arrested 51 traffickers and prevented the introduction of 4 quintals and 7 kilograms of kif treated by the Moroccan border.
They also seized 2.52 kilograms of cocaine and 192,057 psychotropic tablets.
