Sen. Grassley receives classified briefing on plans to support Israel and Ukraine

WASHINGTON, DC —
As President Biden prepares to address the nation on the American response to the War in the Middle East, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, after receiving a classified briefing on the situation says he is satisfied with what he’s hearing from the Biden Administration.
“It was reinforced by everything I heard in this secret briefing, and I’m satisfied we can help Israel as we should be helping Israel, and we don’t have to in any way our worry about our responsibilities in Ukraine versus Israel.”
The President is widely expected to announce a major funding request from Congress to support the Ukraine and Israeli Governments. Ukraine has been fighting for more than 20 months since Russia invaded their territory. Israel is now carrying out a massive offensive against Hamas in Gaza that leaders warn will be a long fight.
On Twitter, Senator Grassley also says, and fellow Iowa Senator Joni Ernst are pressing the Biden Administration to make sure they do everything in their power to get Americans held hostage by Hamas freed.
