The investigating judge at the Bir Mourad Raïs court ordered, on Thursday, the placement in pre -trial detention of seven individuals for the offense of fraud and usurpation of functions of senior executives in the Ministry of Energy, said a press release from the Public Prosecutor at the same court.
“In accordance with the provisions of article 11 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the public prosecutor at the Bir Mourad Raïs court informs public opinion that, within the framework of the fight against the phenomenon of fraud towards citizens and usurpation of civil and military functions, and following a complaint filed by the appointment (BMS), who was scammed by a group of individuals In relation to senior executives from the Ministry of Energy, in order to facilitate the obtaining of an authorization for the realization of a service station in In Guezzam, in return for substantial money, an investigation was opened, hence the arrest of a group of individuals responding to the initials: (MA), (Mad), (ZK), (HM), (ZM), “Said the press release.
“After having presented the accused before the prosecution of the Republic dated August 14, 2025, a judicial information was opened against them for the offense of fraud and usurpation of a title attached to a regulated profession, in accordance with articles 372 of the Criminal Code and 64 of the law relating to the fight against false and the use of false,” adds the same source.
After being interviewed, the investigating judge “ordered the placement in pre -trial detention of the defendants,” concluded the press release.
