Detachments of the National People’s Army (ANP) dismantled, in Tamanrasset, a terrorist cell made up of seven individuals who were planning to carry out criminal acts in the south of the country, a press release from the Ministry of National Defense said on Thursday.
This operation, which is part of the fight against terrorism, also resulted in the recovery of 02 Kalashnikov type submachine guns, 06 ammunition magazines, a quantity of ammunition, 1 4×4 vehicle and two 02 Thuraya type satellite phones, specifies the text.
“This operation reiterates, once again, the constant aptitude and vigilance of the units of the People’s National Army and their firm determination to eradicate the scourge of terrorism and establish security and tranquility throughout the national territory,” concludes the press release.
