From the bustle attacks to the dilatory maneuvers to reach the degree of diplomatic thugs. This is the conclusion made by many observers and diplomats present at the Japan – African Union (Ticad 9), which is held in Yokohama, in the land of the rising sun and whose work will last until tomorrow.
It is exactly the same scenario that is repeated to each edition of this event, whether in Tunis three years ago or to Tokyo last year. Rabat has made it a doctrine, that of shouting that the Arab Republic of Democratic Sahrawi (RASD) is an “intruding” member, which must not sit in this summit.
However, Sahrawi participation is most legal and legitimate because a full member of the African Union. The status of the Pan -African organ is clear, clear and very simple. This kind of event is jointly co -organized between the host country and the AU committee. In other words, the Ticad is a forum to which all the AU member states are invited, and the RASD has been a member country for more than forty years.
In all editions of this kind, even those that have been organized by the European Union, the RASD has always been invited and regularly represented by an official delegation.
Moreover, the most surprising in these attempts to exclude the RASD by the Makhzen is that the kingdom itself has recognized since 2017 in its own Official Journal, By a royal decree, the existence of the RASD. A recognition which came before the membership of Rabat to the AU, of which he is not a founding member, unlike the Sahrawis.
In diplomatic circles, especially Asian, it is surprised that Rabat is in diversion and agitation, sowing zizania in these forums, while sits side by side with the RASD within the AU and in its various bodies and other commissions, and that the two states participate in the continental summits and international and regional conferences.
For Makhzen, the Sahrawi reality, both political and legal, is hard to live and difficult to digest. Vainly, she tries to sabotage the Sahrawi presence, creating ugly and foul -smelling shows where the pure thumbness and the secular hypocrisy of her diet mingle.
It should be remembered that during the Ticad of Tunis in 2022, Morocco recalled its ambassador and created a direct crisis with Tunisia by boycotting the summit, because of the reception reserved by President Kais Saied in Brahim Ghali, while this reception is more institutional and in accordance with the protocols and rules of the AU.
This crazy agitation which once again demonstrated two years later, during the preparatory meeting of Ticad 9 in Tokyo. But this time, the Moroccans went further, outrageously assaulting the Diplomat Sahraoui Baali in the conference room, before diplomats amazed by so much violence and hatred. An assault that has gone around the world thanks to the images relayed on social networks.
A precedent that has not escaped the vigilance of Japanese government services this time. For this edition, Tokyo has decided to mobilize a special team responsible for the protection of the Sahrawi delegation throughout the stay. This mobilization once again demonstrates that Moroccan diplomacy behaves with a mentality of confrontation, bellicism, blindness as well as the denial of truth and reality.
The Japanese device to protect the Sahrawis from a new physical assault is unprecedented. He demonstrates this distressing reality, that of a raw Moroccan diplomacy, thug, failing to be sudden and corrupting, as she knows how to do with deputies from the European Parliament (bought thanks to bribes and sex tourism) or blackmail with spy software.
The Japanese know this. Moroccans have not stopped their primary “protests” since the 2017 summit in Maputo in Mozambique, including that of Addis Ababa in 2019, trying to exclude the Sahrawis from participation.
This time, the facts are stubborn and condemn the gestures of the low level of Morocco. Sahrawi participation in this summit, as in others, is a recognized right to a founding and active member of the AU. It is this truth that the makhzen tries to suffocate in vain.
