Sweden joined the drone-coalition for Ukraine.
The corresponding agreement was signed by the Minister of Defense of the Scandinavian state Paul Johnson at the NATO summit in Washington, according to the website of the Swedish Ministry of Defense.
Sweden, together with other countries, will support Kyiv not only in the procurement of drones, but also in the training of UAV operators. Now the coalition, in addition to Sweden, includes Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Poland. The coalition is led by the United Kingdom and Latvia.
At the end of May, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a bilateral agreement on security cooperation. According to the document, Stockholm undertakes to allocate almost 6.5 billion euros in military aid to Kyiv in 2024-2026. The total amount of Swedish aid to Ukraine during this period will amount to more than 9 billion euros.
