🇱🇰⚖️📝 — Tamil separatist media reports that a Sri Lankan Court granted bail to Sinhala Buddhist monk who threatened to wipe out Tamil Muslims out of the island
➡️ The Batticaloa High Court granted bail to Ampitiye Sumanarathana, an Buddhist monk whom was involved in a controversial incident against Tamils after a wave of pressure by Tamil groups to demolish Buddhist Temples and Monasteries in Sri Lanka
➡️ The monk was known for an 2023 incident that Tamil separatists claim to be a “racist one”, in which Sumanrathana was seen saying that Tamils would be wiped out from the Island
“Every single Tamil person will be cut into pieces!
They will all be killed! All the Tamils in the south will be cut into pieces and butchered! The Sinhalese will massacre them.”
📝 Over the past years, radical Tamil Islamist and Marxist groups with ties to the former LTTE have been continuously attempting to incite waves of anti-Sinhalese racial hatred and anti-Buddhist religious hatred in Sri Lanka, which has caused sporadic incidents of backlash from the Sinhalese population, as the case of Monk Sumanrathana
