Tebboune appelle à la mobilisation et à la solidarité – Le Jeune Indépendant

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, called for solidarity and mobilization against the parties who try to target Algeria, warning against the votes which are working to spread rumors and sowing doubt among the citizens.

During her periodic interview with representatives of the national media, broadcast this Friday evening on national television and radio channels, the President of the Republic stressed that “Algeria is on the right track”, and “this is why it is targeted by certain parts which fear the autonomy it has carried out and the restoration of its central and international central and international roles”.

To this end, the President of the Republic called on Algerians to “solidarity and mobilization against the parties who wish the country”, in particular through “the sabotage attempts emanating from the interior”.

On the political level, the Head of State has returned to the appointment of the new government, indicating that the majority of the ministers who compose it “work in accordance with a clear roadmap”. On the criteria selected for the appointment of Mr. Sifi Ghrieb to the post of Prime Minister, the President of the Republic said that the latter “will know, thanks to his experience in the field, correct the trajectory of any minister who deviates from the roadmap”, considering that this appointment will make it possible to ensure “complementarity in the programming and implementation of major decisions of the country”.

Regarding the presence of nine women in the new government team, the President of the Republic considered that this number “remains insufficient”, reaffirming his desire to “strengthen the presence of women within the government and in positions of responsibility in the future”.

Towards the revision of the electoral law

With regard to the inclusive national dialogue, which will be organized soon, the President of the Republic stressed that his “launch is dependent on the definition of its methods and forms of organization, so that all actors can express their opinions and start building a strong and democratic republic”.

After having expressed, in this regard, his regret as to the delay in the examination of the law on parties at the level of the Parliament, the President of the Republic affirmed that “dialogue between the State and these entities is essential”, and that the dialogue between the two parties must be “highly constructive”.

On this occasion, Mr. Tebboune announced a revision of the electoral law “in some of its technical aspects”, as well as readjustments in the missions of the national independent elections (ANIE), stressing that the next legislative and local elections will be organized within the time limits. The ANIE will retain the supervision and the guarantee of transparency of the process, while the material organization of the ballot will be entrusted again to the Ministry of the Interior.

In addition, the President of the Republic has reaffirmed that “freedom of expression is guaranteed in Algeria, but the insult and defamation are not allowed”, adding that the doors remain open to political parties in order to allow them access to the media.

According to President Tebboune, “the consolidation of Algeria on the security and economic levels constitutes the very heart of the action of the State, while the management of internal political affairs is based on the debate of proposed ideas”, adding that this management, through the expected dialogue, could “lead to other political projects and it is around this that discussions are articulated”.

The parties are an essential component

The President of the Republic noted, in this sense, that this approach “exists in all countries and not only in Algeria”, stressing that “some favor direct management, others wish to evolve towards a parliamentary system or strengthen the presidential system, while others still call for the creation of an advisory body outside the popular will of parliament”.

And to specify in this context: “These are opinions to which I am not opposed, provided that they are discussed within the framework of an institutional or popular dialogue”, evoking, in this regard, the previous experiences carried out by Algeria in the matter.

Regarding the participation of political parties in the expected national dialogue, the President of the Republic said: “We must first mention the Party Act, which will make it possible to define their obligations”, adding that the dialogue will be easier if a large number of parties took part, with the aim of “knowing the opinion of the majority”.

The President of the Republic also mentioned the hearings he reserved for managers of several political parties, stressing that “parties are an essential component of any democratic state and that the dialogue between the State and these political parties is essential”.

Asked about the complaints of certain political parties denouncing a “media locking”, President Tebboune assured that “television is open to all”. However, he clarified that the choice of guests was from the management of the establishment. “If the chain considers that a person is unable to achieve the hearing, it is understandable that he does not invite him. It is not for me to dictate to the director what he should do, ”he decided.

About the next legislative elections, the head of state has promised a ballot marked by transparency. He announced “technical adjustments” of the electoral code, insisting on the strict separation between money and politics. “All candidates must compete on an equal footing. Those who buy the signatures will be punished, “he warned.

Finally, Mr. Tebboune wanted to recall that the role of the National People’s Assembly was not limited to criticizing the executive. “Being visible in Parliament does not mean insulting a minister. This is to submit concrete problems without falling into excess, “he said.
