The question of regular market supply in various products as well as the fight against speculation was once again on the agenda of a high -level meeting. Firm instructions have been given by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in order to avoid any disturbance in the supply of the market. All the stakeholders took part in this meeting, which was held this Thursday, August 28, a few days before the start of the social school.
A set of guidelines were given by the President of the Republic, during this working meeting devoted to the trade sector and the strengthening of the regulation mechanisms of the national market. The Head of State “gave instructions and guidelines to redouble vigilance in the supply of the national market to various products, in order to avoid any form of disruption or shortage in large consumption products,” the Presidency of the Republic said in a press release.
A proactive approach should be adopted to deal with any disturbance that can arise on the market, with a strict application of laws. The president “insisted on the need to act with the rigor required to meet the needs of citizens and to ensure the respect and the application of the laws of the Republic to continue the fight against fraud and speculation without touching the food of the Algerians”.
Abdelmadjid Tebboune also praised the integrity of the majority of economic operators and farmers, as well as their notable role in supporting the State’s efforts in the organization of the market.
The meeting, which took place in the presence of the acting Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense, chief of staff of the National People’s Army, General of Army Said Chanegriha, the director of cabinet to the Presidency of the Republic, Boualem Boualem, was distinguished by the participation of all stakeholders, namely ministerial departments as well as representatives Interprofessional, in addition to the security services.
Several ministers have taken part in this meeting, namely the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, Ministers of Finance, Agriculture, Industry, Internal Trade and Regulation of the National Market, Foreign Trade and the Promotion of Exports and finally of the Pharmaceutical Industry. Also attended the meeting, the advisor of the President of the Republic in charge of the Directorate General for Communication, the Director General of Internal Security, the commander of the interim national gendarmerie, the head of the organization-logistics department of the ANP staff, the Director General of the National Security, the Governor of the Bank of Algeria and the President of the Professional Banks and Financial Institutions (ABEF).
This meeting devoted to trade and regulation of the national market was also marked by the participation of the presidents and managing directors of the Interprofessional Cereal Office (OAIC), the National Interprofessional Milk and Dairy Products (ONIL), of the Agro-Industries group (Agrodiv), Naftal, the Central Pharmacy of Hospitals (PCH) Agro-logistics (Agrolog) and the Saidal group. This means that all the speakers in the supply of the market in various sectors were present.
In this context, it should be recalled that a meeting devoted to the examination of the measures taken to guarantee a regular and balanced supply of the national market and preparations for the next social and economic school year was held at the beginning of August, at the level of the Ministry of Internal Trade.
The need to continue the dynamics started by intensifying control over basic products and sensitive products, and by strengthening the presence in the field to raise any malfunction had been underlined by the first manager of the sector.
The latter had then affirmed the commitment of the trade sector to rigorously apply the orientations of the President of the Republic, aimed at strengthening food security and stabilizing the market, within the framework of a global vision based on governance, digital transition and proactive action on the ground.
