The IDF and Shin Bet announced that Israeli forces operating in Rafah, southern Gaza, recovered personal items confirmed to belong to Manny Godard, an Israeli hostage who was abducted and killed by Palestinian Islamic Jihad on October 7, 2023.

During a recent search of a Palestinian Islamic Jihad military compound in Rafah, troops discovered evidence later transported to Israel. Forensic experts at the Abu Kabir institute verified that the items were linked to Godard’s remains.

Godard’s body is still being held in Gaza, the military said, adding that efforts are ongoing to bring him home for burial. His family has been notified.
