The IDF reports that troops intercepted another drone smuggling attempt from Egypt into Israel overnight.
Surveillance units detected the unmanned aircraft as it crossed the border, prompting air traffic controllers and nearby forces to track and ultimately bring it down. Upon inspection, soldiers discovered three assault rifles attached to the drone.
The recovered weapons were transferred to Israeli police for examination. The military notes that such incidents have become increasingly common, with drones frequently used to move weapons and narcotics across the Egyptian border. Just this past Friday, troops thwarted two similar smuggling operations.
