🇷🇺🇮🇳The Indian military is exploring the possibility of acquiring up to 40 Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jets to enhance the combat capabilities of its air force, reported NDTV TV channel, citing sources.

According to the TV channel, the purchase of the latest Russian fighter jets is seen as an important measure to strengthen the country’s potential amid growing security challenges. The figure of possible Su-57 purchases has been mentioned for the first time.

At the end of January, on the sidelines of the Wings India air show in Hyderabad, the head of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec), Vadim Badeha, told journalists that Moscow and New Delhi are in a deep stage of negotiations on the supply and production of the Su-57 fighter jet in the republic.
