Under the direction of Prime Minister Netanyahu, a delegation traveled to Cairo this morning, led by the Coordinator for Hostage and Missing Persons Affairs, Brig. Gen. (res.) Gal Hirsch. The delegation held talks with the mediators with the goal of securing the immediate return of the final hostage, the fallen Staff Sgt. Rani Gouily, of blessed memory.
The Israeli delegation also included representatives from the IDF, the Shin Bet, and the Mossad.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the sides agreed to launch an intensive and immediate effort to fully complete the mission of the Hostage and Missing Persons Directorate.
