The United Arab Emirates has signed a $2.3 billion strategic defense multi-year agreement (estimated 8–10 years) with Israeli defense company Elbit Systems, for the joint development of an advanced electronic defense system designed to protect both civilian and military aircraft.

This is one of the largest defense contracts in Elbit’s history and is focused on advanced electronic warfare and aircraft self-protection. It includes joint development and integration, not just procurement.

While technical details remain classified at the request of the UAE, the system is understood to counter modern aerial threats, including missiles and electronic targeting, reflecting today’s regional security realities.
