The Director of the Higher School of Political Sciences, Zarakia Ouahbi affirmed on Tuesday in Algiers that all the factors for the success of the presidential election, scheduled for September 7, are “meet”.
Guest of the Echaâb newspaper Forum, to discuss the theme of “the presidential election and consolidation of state institutions through the realization of the popular will”, Mr. Ouahbi indicated that “all the success factors of the presidential election are brought together, starting with good governance which allows citizens to participate in the implementation of public policies” and in accordance with the content of the Constitution and organic law no. 19-08 relating to elections concerning this operation.
According to the same official, this deadline will take place in an “ordinary” manner, given the availability of the essential “safeguards” and “positive indicators” for this purpose, considering that this election constituted “a clear and firm reflection of the process of healthy and constant mutation of the democratic system in Algeria (…), in recent years, which has given the country immunity both internally and abroad. The Director of the School further affirmed that all democratic values “are now anchored” in national political institutions and have become “concrete in matters of foreign policy”, which makes the election “a important link in the process of political change in the country.
Responding to a question on the nature of political discourse in the electoral process, teacher Ouahbi emphasized the need for political discourse that is “realistic and truthful, far from populism” and the importance of “consecrating the principles Constitutional Laws”, during this deadline.
