The first baccalaureate exams, session 2024, seem to be going well given the first two days in the wilaya of Béjaïa, like the other wilayas in the country. The kick-off of this important university entrance examination was, symbolically, given by the wali of Béjaïa Mr. Kamel-Eddine Karbouche from the examination center (Lycée chahid Yaïci Abdelkder dit Si Nouaceri) ex Technicum of Ihaddaden, commune of Béjaïa.
A wilaya delegation composed of the president of the wilaya popular assembly (APW) Mr. Bachir Barket, the director of education, the head of daïra, the mayor of Béjaïa, parliamentarians as well as several civil and military officials took part in the official opening ceremony for the competitions.
The first head of the wilaya inspected on the occasion the logistical and human resources put in place to ensure the smooth running of the exams, including catering. He affirmed that “the examination is taking place in better conditions and that all necessary means have been implemented for this purpose”.
He then indicated that “the education sector will be strengthened in educational and other infrastructures from the start of the next school year in order to improve the schooling conditions of our children according to the instructions of the President of the Republic” . There are a total of 18,113 candidates, including 13,096 schoolchildren, who were on call yesterday and who will have to undergo these tests over five days.
The latter are distributed over 61 centers across all the municipalities of the wilaya, thus welcoming all the applicants concerned by this decisive test, including 5,014 free candidates, 201 prisoners and 19 others with specific needs, including 12 with motor disabilities and 7 blind people who have obtained special permissions to take the exams under specific conditions.
Which are supervised by 03 teachers and the fourth is requisitioned to help them write the answers on the sheets dedicated to this subject. The staff responsible for monitoring this test is 4,339 teachers, while 1,421 other employees and teachers are requisitioned to supervise the exams.
The director of education Mr. Mohamed Karim Korchi indicated on the occasion that “all conditions have been met to allow students to take their exam in a calm climate”. He also affirmed that: “transport and catering are provided for all candidates”. Concerning the first test of the Bac exam in this case, Arabic language and literature, candidates affirm at the end of the test that “the subject is affordable unlike that of last year” but , “it depends, according to them, on the preparation before the exam”. Bac 2024 candidates had to take the Islamic sciences test yesterday afternoon and the maths and English tests respectively, today in the morning and afternoon.
